چکیده

Background: Candida species is a normal commensal flora of human body inhabiting the skin, mucous membrane and gastro intestinal tract but may be associated with superficial deep-seated fungal infections. The switch from to potent pathogen, facilitated by various extracellular hydrolytic enzymes. aim this study was estimate phospholipase, proteinase, haemolysin esterase activity determine antifungal susceptibility. Methods: Total 100 isolates spp. were collected diagnostic microbiology laboratories in central Kerala. Phospholipase, haemolytic determined early defined methods Price et al, Aoki Walter Rudek Manns respectively. Results: C. tropicalis exhibited highest proteinase followed albicans krusei. C.albicans shows Conclusions: Extracellular enzymes, detected among present study.

Molecular Identification and Antifungal Susceptibility Pattern of Non-albicans Candida Species Isolated from Vulvovaginal Candidiasis

Background: Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is an important health problem caused by Candida spp. The aim of this study was molecular identification, phylogenetic analysis, and evaluation of antifungal susceptibility of non-albicans Candida isolates from VVC. Methods: Vaginal secretion samples were collected from 550 vaginitis patients at Sayyad Shirazi Medical and Educational Center of Gorgan (...

Identification and antifungal susceptibility pattern of Candida species isolated from patients with nosocomial candiduria

Introduction: Nosocomial candiduria could be due to cystitis, pyelonephritis, or fungusball in the urinary tract system. Several reports have shown candidemia and upper urinarytract involvement as the complications of candiduria. The aim of this study was to assessnosocomial candiduria; identify Candida isolates and determine their drug susceptibilitypattern. Materials and Methods: Urine sample...

Molecular identification and in-vitro antifungal susceptibility testing of Candida species isolated from patients with onychomycosis

Background and Purpose: Candida species are the most opportunistic fungi affecting the nails and resulting in onychomycosis. In this study, we identified and evaluated in-vitro susceptibility of the recovered isolates against fluconazole (FLC), voriconazole (VRC), and clotrimazole (CLT) using the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) M27-A3 document. Materials and Method...

Identification and Antifungal Susceptibility Testing of Candida species isolated from Bronchoalveolar Lavage sampl

The frequency of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients, particularly by Candida species, has increased in recent years. Colonization by Candida species in respiratory tract in susceptible hosts may play an important role to precede disseminated candidiasis. This study was designed to identify Candida species from bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) samples and determination of antifungal sus...
